PBA Benefit Consultant and advisors located on the PBA premises for year-round enrollment.
Effective April 1, 2005, the Florida PBA implemented a program (free to members) that provides certain disability and death benefits to the member, spouse or dependent children when the member is permanently injured or killed in the line-of-duty. This benefit is covered by the Heart Fund Charity. This is a program, free to members of PBA Chapters and participating PBA Charters, which provides certain death or disability benefits to the member, spouse or dependent children when the member is killed or suffers a catastrophic injury in the line of duty.
As part of your membership in the Broward County PBA, officers and deputies are provided free mental health counseling services through a program called L.E.A.P. (Law Enforcement Assistance Program).
In addition to on-duty legal representation, off-duty PLAP and traditional member services, the Broward County PBA has benefits we call Member Extras. These are discounts offered by financial service companies, mortgage companies, retailers and entertainment companies that support law enforcement.
